What is ‘Getting Social’ all about?

Welcome!

Social comes from the Latin word, socius which means friend. If you are here, we consider you a friend! Together we’ll explore relationships, love, parenting and growing older with grace.

Get social with us friends!

Where did this idea come from?

Best friends- the extrovert & an introvert-

Artists, entrepreneurs and mothers establishing healthy boundaries for raising our children in this technological age.  Every generation will face similar challenges when teaching the next… but we have been handed a particularly challenging dilemma with the introduction of constant contact via social media.

An experiment in the making, we don’t know exactly how this will turn out.

We want to connect authentically, honestly and share the survival stories that have made us who we are today. We want to be part of the changing tide, sharing positivity and encouragement as we push others to reach their full potential.

We’ve discovered self-love is the greatest lesson we can teach the next generation and we hope you will join us in our journey.

About Us

Welcome to Getting Social with Adrienne  and Aundrea.

In this digital world, it’s easy to lock ourselves away behind a screen only engaging in online echo chambers.

We want to push past the way we’ve normalized screens and encourage others to engage positively, being productive with social media.

Finding ways to be more connected by the devices that so often disconnect us.

Meet Adrienne

Born and raised in South Georgia, Adrienne made her home in Kansas City in 2005. Since then, she’s become a pro at hiding her Southern accent.

She began her career after obtaining her B.F.A from the Savannah College of Art & Design and quickly received international acclaim for her artistic approach to weddings and portraits. Her work frequently graces the pages of magazines, advertisements and publications throughout the country.

When she’s not behind a camera, you can find her doing normal things like throwing impromptu dance parties with her daughter, teaching Pete the dog new tricks or practicing her evil laugh.

Meet Aundrea

Born and raised in Kansas City, Aundrea is passionate about supporting local businesses and raising awareness for the arts.

She is one of the creative minds behind Meadowbelle Market, a thriving jewelry and accessory company that just celebrated 10 years in business.

As a mother of two little ones with food allergies, Audrea is quite creative in the kitchen!

When she’s not in ‘mommy-mode’ you can find her tango dancing or attempting to create a new dish that Adrienne will actually try.

‘Don’t mistake boundaries for walls.

In this era of digital communication, we need to teach our children to establish their own boundaries in life- especially when it comes to social media & constant contact with their peers.

We can’t avoid the powerful influence social media has within our daily lives. Giving them the power to turn it off- disconnecting when appropriate

Open and honest conversations are what lie at the heart of every deep connection to someone else. ‘
